Will my student be promoted this year?

All students completed three nine-week grading periods prior to the disruption and school closure due to COVID-19. Student grades were assigned at that time for each student. Students have been engaged in distance learning since March 17 with online learning and various other learning assignments and resources. Student grades during distance learning and school closure period will not have a negative impact on promotion. Determinations about promotion and retention will be made by administrators and teachers on a case by case basis as they have always been. Parents will be notified concerning their student’s situation by May 22. We do not anticipate students being retained who were on track for promotion on March 17.

How will grades be determined?

The student’s final average for the semester will be based on the grade they had earned at the end of the third nine weeks grading period. Academic work completed during the school closure period can only serve to help a student’s grade.
